TimeVault Mail Bridge

TimeVault Mail Bridge is a private, single-user personal application. It is used exclusively by its owner and is not offered to the public or available for user registration. The owner may connect multiple email accounts that they own or administer.

Purpose

TimeVault Mail Bridge exists for one specific compatibility purpose: to allow its owner's vintage Macintosh SE/30 and its legacy email client to use the owner's modern email accounts. The Macintosh SE/30 cannot itself use the modern OAuth authentication required by services such as Gmail.

The owner's private TimeVault server therefore acts as a compatibility bridge. It performs modern Google OAuth authentication and mail synchronization for the owner's accounts, while the Macintosh connects only to the owner's private local TimeVault mail service. Modern Google OAuth credentials are not stored on the Macintosh SE/30.

TimeVault is a private LAN service and is not exposed to or reachable from the public Internet. The legacy Macintosh therefore has no public route through TimeVault to Google's services; only the TimeVault server initiates authenticated outbound connections to the modern mail provider.

The application is not intended to create a separate commercial email archive or online email service. Any local mail storage is part of the technical bridge that makes the owner's existing modern mailboxes usable from the legacy Macintosh and supports synchronization between those environments.

For Gmail access through IMAP/XOAUTH2, the application requests the https://mail.google.com/ OAuth scope. This broad scope is required by Google's Gmail IMAP OAuth mechanism. TimeVault Mail Bridge uses the authorized access only for this private compatibility and mail-synchronization purpose.

Availability

This website provides information about the OAuth application. It is not a public mail service and does not provide account registration or access to the private TimeVault system.
